What the ₦ sign means in the game

The terms call the in-game unit Game Naira (or Lagos Life Naira). It is a fictional unit that exists only for gameplay. According to the terms it is not Nigerian legal tender, not eNaira, not a bank deposit or electronic money, and it is not issued or backed by the Central Bank of Nigeria. There is no exchange rate between Game Naira and real naira.

The terms give a direct example: a balance such as ₦1,000,000 in the game does not mean the developer owes the player one million Nigerian naira. When the calculators on this site ask for amounts in Game Naira, they mean this fictional unit, so a result is a planning figure for your Sim, not a sum of real money.

Can you withdraw or sell it?

No. The terms say Game Naira cannot be withdrawn to a bank account or redeemed for real naira or any other currency. Where the game allows transfers between players, those transfers stay inside the game and do not turn the balance into cash.

The terms also prohibit selling Game Naira for real money, running unofficial exchanges, brokering it for cash, and buying or selling accounts. Listed consequences include reversed transactions and suspended or terminated accounts. So anyone offering to buy your balance, sell you cheap currency or help you "cash out" is offering something the rules forbid, and you have no protection if the deal goes wrong. The developer's help page puts it simply: never pay anyone outside the game.

Buying Game Naira with real money

The game may sell Game Naira for real money. The terms describe such a purchase as a limited right to receive the stated amount of virtual units in your account. It is not ownership of currency, an investment, or a right to exchange the units back into cash.

Website payments are processed by Flutterwave (payments made before 6 October 2026 went through Bachs). The privacy policy says the developer never receives your full card or bank details, and that app-store purchases, where offered in the Vatar app, are taken by Apple or Google under their own terms.

  • Buy only inside the official game at lagoslife.app or the official app, never through another player or website.
  • Check the amount and price on the confirmation screen before paying.
  • Keep the receipt or transaction reference privately; it is what support will ask for.

When a refund may be considered

Under the terms, purchases are generally final once the Game Naira or item has been delivered. A refund may be considered when real money was taken but the purchase was not completed or credited, and the failure can be confirmed from the payment provider's records and the game's own transaction ledger.

A delivered purchase will not ordinarily be refunded because you changed your mind, spent it, transferred it or lost it in play. A dishonest chargeback on a delivered purchase can lead to the virtual transaction being reversed or the account suspended. The terms state that consumer rights that cannot legally be waived still apply.

If a payment went through but nothing arrived, do not pay again straight away. Note the time, amount and transaction reference, then use one of the official routes on our account help page.

Why prices and pay can change

The developer reserves the right to adjust prices, salaries, payouts, virtual tax rates, probabilities, item availability and other economy settings to keep the game balanced. It may also reverse balances or items obtained through bugs, duplication, automation or other exploits. The terms make no promise of earnings, investment gains or job success, and they describe banking, investing and betting in the game as game mechanics, not financial advice.

That is why this site does not publish a fixed salary table. Our money calculator and job comparison tool ask for the values currently shown in your own game, and the money planning guide explains how to compare a whole week rather than a single wage.
